CENTRALIA - Wilma V. Buoy of Centralia died at 2:51 a.m. Saturday, April-1, 2001, at her' home.
She was born in Centralia, daughter of Emory Parker and Ruby (Weatherford) Sargent. She married Robert D. Buoy on Sept. 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Engel of Salem; a sister, Marge Lewis of Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Ramona Sargent of Mt. Vernon; several nephews and nieces and five grandchildren, David Engel of New York City, Drew Engel, Darren Engel, Dirk Engel and Aimee Engel, all of Salem.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Sargent.
Mrs. Buoy was manager of operator services for Illinois Bell Telephone Company until her retirement. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home with Elder Jack Storment officiating. Interment will be in Old Shiloh Cemetery near Mt. Vernon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children and will be accepted at the funeral home. She was buried on 9 Apr 2001 in Old Shiloh Cemetery, Jefferson County, Illinois.³¹
