Funeral services for Mrs. Betty J. Russo, 62, of Boulder, were held at 11 a.m.
Monday, May 17th, at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval. Rev. Ray Long officiated
with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto.
Mrs. Russo died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, May 14th,
1999.
Born in Clinton county on Oct. 29th, 1936, she was a daughter of Irvin and Viola
Heinzmann Noller. On Dec. 22nd, 1963, in Shattuc, she married Donald G. Russo.
He died July 3rd, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy L. Russo of O'Fallon and one sister, Mrs.
Judy Brennan of rural Sandoval .
A son, Joel William Russo, died on March 13th, 1986 and a brother, Robert L.
Noller, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Russo returned to the Boulder area five years ago. She was an elementary
teacher in Jersey county and Granite City area for 32 years before she retired
in 1994. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Delta Zeta
Sorority of Southern Illinois University.
She also was a member of the Boulder United Methodist Church. She was buried
on 17 May 1999 in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Bethalto, Madison County, Illinois.158 Betty Jane Noller and Donald

Shattuc resident Donald G. Russo, 64, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia
on Friday, July 3rd, 1998.
Born in Jerseyville on July 29th, 1933, he was a son of Herman M. and Mary
W. Waters Russo. On Dec. 22nd, 1963, in Shattuc, he married Betty J. Noller and
she survives.
Additional survivors include his mother of Aviston and one daughter, Amy Lynn
Russo of O'Fallon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joel William Russo, and brother, James Russo.
Mr. Russo moved to Shattuc from Dow four years ago. He had been an auto mechanic
for 35 years at Sam's Shell in Godfrey and then owned and operated Don's Auto
Service in Alton. For the last four years, he had worked as a ranger and marshal
at Governors Run in Carlyle and, before that, at Clover Leaf GolfCourse in Alton.
He had served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was a member of the A.F.
& A.M. Franklin Lodge in Alton and American Association of Retired Persons.
Rev. Ray Long officiated at services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6th, at the Day
Funeral Home in Sandoval. Burial followed in Roselawn cemetery in Bethalto.

Donald Russo
SHATTUC -- Donald G. Russo, 64, of Shattuc, died at 2:39 p.m. or Friday, July
3, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
Mr. Russo was born on July 29, 1933, in Jerseyville, son of Herman M. and Mary
W. (Waters) Russo. His mother survives in Aviston. He married Betty J. Noller
in Shattuc on Dec. 22, 1963, and she survives.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Amy Lynn
Russo of O'Fallon.
He was preceded in death by hi father, one son, Joel William, an one brother,
James.
Mr. Russo lived in Shattuc for the last four years, moving from Dow. He worked
as an auto mechanic at Sam's Shell in Godfrey for 35 years and then he owned
and operated Don's Auto Service in Alton. He worked at Clover Leaf Golf Course
in Alton and then at Governor's Run Golf course in Carlyle as a ranger and marshal
for the last four years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean
War from 1952 to 1956 and he was a member of A.F. & A.M. Franklin Lodge No.
25 of Alton and of the America Association of Retired Persons.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval with the Rev.
Ray Long officiating. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in
Bethalto at 2:30 p.m.
Friends may call from 6 to p.m. today or from 8 a.m. Monday until time of services
at the funeral home.
Masonic Rites will be accorded by members of A.F. & A.M Franklin Lodge
No. 25 at 7 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's or to the charity of the donor's choice
and will be received at the funeral home. He was buried on 6 Jul 1998 in Roselawn
Memorial Gardens, Bethalto, Madison County, Illinois.159 He's last residence was at Shattuc, Clinton County,
