Mrs. Flora McClarty Dies in Canada
Mrs. Flora Speiser McClarty, 67, a former resident of Meridian township, died
at her home at James River Bridge, Alberta, Canada, Nov. 8. She was born near
Shattuc Feb. 6, 1877 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara Heinzman
Speiser. On June 4, 1919, she was married to George McClarty in Canada.
Before going to Canada, Mrs. McClarty was employed in St. Louis. Since her
marriage she had lived near Olds, Alberta, Canada, where she and her husband
obtained a homstead and resided there at the time of her death. Mrs. McClarty's
parents, five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Two sisters,
Mrs. Fannie Koch of Carlyle, and Mrs. Elizabeth Noller of Shattuc passed away
last year.
Survivors include her husband, one stepdaughter and five grandchildren living
in Canada; a sister, Mrs. Stephen Stein of Parsons, Kansas; a nephew, Joseph
Speiser of St. Louis, who was reared in the home with her from infancy at the
death of his mother in 1881, and many other nieces and nephews who mourn the
passing of "Aunt Flora"

Home until the funeral services at Sandoval in the St. Lawrence Catholic church
