If this is true, then his wife, Maria probably died the year they arrived in the USA. He died on 11 Jul 1871.⁹⁴ He was buried on 12 Jul 1871 in Highland, Madison County, Illinois.¹⁴ Sebastin Debatin and Maria Ursula Etzkorn were married on 19 Feb 1829 in Weiher, Germany.⁴²

19. Maria Ursula Etzkorn was born on 7 May 1804 in Weiher, Germany.⁴² She died in 1847.⁴² Children were:

	ii.	Johann Debatin42 was born on 24 Mar 1831 in Ubstadt, Germany. He died in Madison County, Illinois.
	iii.	Gabriel Debatin42 was born on 25 May 1832 in Weiher, Germany.42 He was farmer.41,42 He appeared in the census in 1900 in Wheatfield Township, Clinton County, Illinois.42 He died from malaria on 10 Aug 1900 in Beaver Prairie, Clinton County, Illinois.41,42 Highland Journal 15 Aug 1900: GABRIEL DEBATIN: 67 +3 died Saturday at his home at Beaver Prairie. He was born May 1833 in Germany and at the age of 14 came to America with his parents and settled near Highland. He was married twice, the second marriage to Mrs. Barbara Zimmermann (Senn). Three children were born to the marriage, a son Emil and two daughters. The mother and one daughter died in the same year. One sister, Mrs. Heitzmann, a brother in St. Louis, and a brother in law Abraham Fricker. He was buried on 11 Aug 1900 in Highland, Madison County, Illinois.41,42 Gabriel was buried in Row H, Space 34, lot S.
	iv.	Bertilia Debatin42 was born on 10 Mar 1834 in Weiher, Germany. She died on 20 May 1834.

	vi.	Ludwig "Louis" Debatin42 was born on 21 Oct 1836 in Weiher, Germany. He was naturalized on 28 Oct 1872 in Clinton County, Illinois.42 He appeared in the census in 1900 in Saint Louis County, Missouri.42 Listed with wife, Alice but the age matches about to M. Elisabeth.
	vii.	Elizabeth Debatin was born on 8 Aug 1838 in Weiher, Baden, Germany.12,13,19,42 Orrell's book lists the birth as 14 Apr 1848 (page 365). She is listed as 40 years old in the 1880 census making her birth date around 1840. Her death certificate apparently lists 14 Apr 1837. Verda listed 1838. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.16 She died from cerebral hemorrhage and asthma on 30 Apr 1925 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.12,42 She was buried in Sandoval, Marion County, Illinois.37
