From page 8 of the 18 Apr 1945 edition of some newspaper:
Benjamin Franklin Reynolds, well known aged resident of both Bond and Clinton
counties, died at 7 p. m. Wednesday at the Home for the aged in Mulberry Grove,
aged 87 years, one month, and 17 days. Complications and senility caused death.
The body was removed to the Runells Funeral Home to remain until the funeral
at 1 p. m. Saturday, April 21st at the Methodist Church at Boulder, to be conducted
by the Rev. R. C. Heflin. Burial will be made in the Eberneezer cemetery.
The deceased was born in Jackson county, Ohio, March 1, 1858, a son of Joel
and Mary Reynolds. The family came to Clinton county when he was 15 years of
age and he entered the Home for the aged at Mulberry Grove 14 months ago.
Mr. Reynolds first married Christina Faught, March 1, 1876 and four children
were born. His second marriage was to Miss Hannah Ann Faught and two children
survive this union, Homer Reynolds of Greenville and Mrs. Isabel Heingmann of
Shattuc, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Five children are deceased,
together with his wife.
BF Reynolds' bible contained a newspaper clipping with a picture of a lady named
Mrs P.P. Cothron and a baby named Josephine Cothron. The headline states "President
elect's niece and little daughter, the "white house baby". The article
reads:
Mrs. Perin P. Cothron is a niece of President-elect Wilson, and comes from north
Carolina. She is to make her home with the Wilsons during the president's term.
Her little daughter, Josephine, will be known as the "White House baby"
the next four years. Little Josephine is a great favorite of her granduncle.
Carl F. Heinzmann reports that he remembers his mother Isabelle or possibly his
Grandpa Frank talking about having relatives in Sciotoville, OH. It is also
possible that when Frank moved from Ohio he settled for a short while in Vermillion
County, IL before moving to Sorento in Bond County. Benjamin Franklin Reynolds
and Hannah Anna Hicks were married on 8 Apr 1890.4,25 1900 census
lists both Anna and Frank as being married for 18 years. This is close to correct
but they weren't married to each other those 18 years.
Christina FAUGHT married Benjamin Franklin REYNOLDS in 1877. They started having
children right away.
Five years later in 1882, James FAUGHT married Hannah Ann HICKS and they also
had their child right away.
Two years after that in 1884, Christina died leaving Benjamin with 2 small children
(2 of their 4 children had already died).
When James died in 1886, he left his widow with a 4 year old (Harley).
I don't know how they hooked up exactly but in 1890, Christina's widower, Benjamin
Franklin REYNOLDS married Annie, his brother's-in-law widow.
The state marriage records show Benjamin and Annie obtained their license from
Macoupin County. They appeared in the census in 1910 in East Fork Township,
Clinton County, Illinois.26 7.

This is the first we have seen of the name, Mary Davidson. Interestingly enough,
there is a Mary Davidson listed as neighbors of William and Sarah Hicks in the
1850 census. She would have been about the same age as William and Sarah.
A friend pointed a link to William H Hicks marriage to Sarah and her surname
was Davidson.
Another friend pointed us to a book by Lillie Pauline White titled Jennings,
Davidson, and Allied Families, originally published in 1944. This book lists
Anna's name as Anne Davidson Hicks. Children were:
