Supposedly, his marriage permit lists his age as 22 in 1889. I haven't seen the actual permit but if it says 27, that would be logical and a 7 can easily be mistaken for a 2. He was baptized on 26 Apr 1863 in Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Madison County, Illinois.14 He lived in Clinton County, Illinois in 1868.15 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.16 He was a farmer.12 He owned Sec 4, 160 acres, about 1920 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.15 He lived on the farm where Harold & Vivian last lived in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois. He died of acute dilation of the heart on 20 Jan 1928 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.12 He was buried on 22 Jan 1928 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.10,17 Although family tradition and his tombstone show his name as Clemens, Bill Bucholz lists his given name as Clemence. Cathy Kiefer reports his name on his birth certificate was Clemens W. Clemens W Heinzmann and Louisa (Christina Louisa) Wedekemper were married on 11 Dec 1889 in Madison County, Illinois.18 They appeared in the census on 7 Jun 1900 in East Fork Township, Clinton County, Illinois.4 They appeared in the census in 1920 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.9

Carl F. Heinzmann remembers his Grandma as a big woman who always wore a gingham dress usually made from flour sacks.

Ralph Peter "Pete" Heinzmann was born on 18 Apr 1908 in Shattuc, Clinton County, Illinois.3,6 We strongly suspect that Ralph was born at the home place north of Shattuc in Meridian Township, Clinton County, IL even though his SSAN was issued in Missouri. Bill Bucholz lists him as born in Shattuc. He lived in Shattuc, Clinton County, Illinois after 18 Apr 1908.6 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Meridian Township, Clinton County, Illinois.9 He lived in Beckemeyer, Clinton County, Illinois about 1926.6 He was owner/operator of the Dairy Queen in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois.2,6 He lived in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois in 1973.2,6 He died from a heart attack on 16 Jan 1973 in Carlyle, Clinton County, Illinois.6 He was buried in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.22

Edna Curdt, 85
Shattuc resident Mrs. Edna A. Curdt died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Sunday, Jan. 7th, 1996. She was 85 years old.
Born in Meridian township on July 18th, 1910, she was a daughter of Clemens and Louise Wedekemper Heinzmann. On Sept. 17th, 1930, in Centralia, she married Charles W. Curdt. He died Dec. 24th, 1985.
A daughter, Mrs. Betty Fruend of Shattuc, survives.
Mrs. Curdt had operated Dot's Beauty Shop in Sandoval from 1954-1960 and then was a secretary at Centralia Candy Factory from 1960-1964. She was a member of the Shattuc United Methodist Church.
Rev. Erin Witherspoon officiated at services held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery. She was buried on 10 Jan 1996 in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Centralia, Marion County, Illinois.
